It's a tough sell given that it is less than 2 weeks after the London game....  :-\

If you succeed I will need to know how you manage to pull it off (without getting too personal of course :D )

Nice, you lucky bxxxxxx! So you get to see both games you mentioned earlier?

I did go to visit the 49ers HQ in Santa Clara during our California vacation 3 weeks ago. Not much going on there in the beginning of July obviously, but I saw the facility, took some pictures of me standing next to the 5 Lombardi trophies and saw Justin Smith using a cell phone :)  That's about it but at least now I can say that I've been there...

Bucs Cheerleaders did some PR work over here recently, inclduing several radio shows, school visits and even visiting Wimbledon!
Looking forward to seeing them in October....;)  although sadly I dont fancy their teams chances that much! :( although I'd love to see them beat Bellicheat and co!

Does anybody know when the game starts? I assume it's the 1PM Eastern time slot, so that would make it 6PM London time. Right?

Yes, I expect to wear it and you can be sure there will be pics again.

As far as I know 7 from the fantasy league will go to the game so it should be a nice gathering and there should be a few more 9er jerseys this year  :)

Kevin Lynch of Niner Insider thinks Michael Crabtree could be the last first-round choice to sign a contract.

I hope he will sign up shortly. I really want him to have seen significant playing time before I go in Nov.  :(

My party of 4 will be travelling down on the Saturday, and meeting our 2 london based buddies.  We've just booked rooms in the Premier Inn right next to the stadium (Wembley Way).  This means we should be at the Green Man on Saturday night, as well as Sunday afternoon.

And I've applied for tickets to the official tailgate party as well, so will check that out if we get them.  Looking forward to it.  Should hopefully get to catch up with you guys this year!

cool, sounds like everyones plans are coming together well!  I'll be coming down on Sunday arvo with my group with of 6 and going to the Green man straight away for a few beers B)   I'll be wearing my new Staley jersey :)  (hopefully i can persuade my g/f to wear my old Gore jersey thats a bit too small for me now!)
The BAFL team who organise the great british tailgate party at the green man (the team are the Colchester Gladiators) are playing on Sunday and the g/f has agreed to come with me to watch them play Watford - weathers supposed to great so cannot wait to watch that game! :)

http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/49ers/archives/2009/08/london-calling.html

Bruce and Rath filmed parts that will be aired in the UK (Sky sports or BBC I wonder?) to aide the rise in popularity of the NFL over here.  the segments explain different parts of playing techniques (blocking, catching etc)

the trains are fine Hojer, the queue up Wembley way (to get to the underground station) looks SCARY when you join it, but its actually pretty well organised so if you're quick-ish out of the game, you can be one one of the fleet of trains back to the city within a few minutes - i do that every year to gt back home (about an hour from Wembley by train)

Last year, which was my first, we were a little slow to get out of the stadium - we didn't really want to leave - so there was a huge crowd when got to the station. Everybody seemed to be going in the direction of the city and my clever brother had found a hotel for us just a couple of stops in the other direction. So we didn't have to wait, just fight through the crowd to get to the outbound track, which was more or less empty.

We were located near Paddington last year and about an hour after leaving the stadium we were sitting comfortably at some casino with a cold beer watching the next NFL game  which I believe was Pittsburgh - Giants  8)

It beats having a long way into town and back when you are shopping  ;)

Well didn't he own Watford once? Their style of playing was closer to Football than football (meaning, soccer).

If there's a joke there, it's obviously on the Pats. Ha!

anyone else lucky enough to win ticket to this years official Tailgate party?  we did!  Heres what the email says will be there on the day..

The Tailgate Party, which will begin at 11 a.m., will feature displays and presentation of every team, plus some unique items from the NFL Hall of Fame, an NFL 3D cinema – and live performances by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders. Visitors will be able to see equipment worn by some of their heroes, enter competitions to win team merchandise and meet up with other fans of your team.
Coors Light – the Official beer sponsor of the NFL -- will be providing a beer garden for NFL fans to meet-up and enjoy some ice cold, Rocky Mountain refreshment before kick-off of the big game between the Buccaneers and Patriots.
Also available for fans attending the event will be a large Reebok NFL merchandise marquee, which will include an array of NFL gear including replica jerseys, caps, t-shirts, helmets, footballs and special commemorative International Series souvenirs.

It will mean that my party will either have to leave the green man early, or arrive later after going to the offical tailgate, but either way, I'll definitely be at the Green Man at some point :)

haha, sorry Hojer, if I could have, I would have got enough for everyone, but they only give you the same number of Tailgate Tix, as the number of game tix you bought (so in my case, 6).  They've done an official tailgate each year, and you have to apply for them via NFLUK (just enter your email add and number of tickets, witha  maximum of 6) shortly after the tickets go on sale to NFLUK members.  Its usually limited to a about 3000 or so I think.  In all honesty I've heard previous years have been pretty poor, but with the addition of hall of fame memorabilia, 3d film etc, I'm hoping this year might be a big improvement.

Either way I'll obviously be at the Green Man to meet up with all my 'Dise brothers in arms (as well as the fact that I've recently started following the Colchester Gladiators who put on the unofficial tailgate at the Green Man every year - they're in the BAFL2 Southern final on Sunday, against Hampshire Thunder, and the winners of that face the northern champs in the Britbowl)
