Alex Smith waiting for status update
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5725403

LONDON -- San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith spent Monday morning at a hospital in London, and is still waiting to hear if a left shoulder injury will keep him from playing against the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Bring rotten veggies hojer and practice your throws :)

He'd probably hit Vernon in stride!

I really don't who to aim for anymore. Smith? Sing? Manusky? Jed York? There are so many who deserve a rotten veggie or two...

Hopefully by the time I get to the stadium my mood will have improved. Despite myself I'm kinda starting to look forward to it...

Just popping in for half an hour before leaving for Wembley

Great Q & A session with Goodell yesterday morning  :)

River Boat Party was amazing. Broncos cheerleaders greeting everyone going on board the boat, Virgin Atlantic stewardesses greeting inside and Gold Rush performance and mingling for the entire trip.
Autograph session with Jerry Rice (signed my jersey front and back so I will be wearing #80 Rice at the game),
Guy McIntyre, John Elway, Floyd Little, Tony Zendejas and Gary Zimmermann and everyone got what they wanted  8) 8) 8)
Free bar and plenty to eat....what more can the heart desire.

Meet some nice couples who promised I could give them a call if/when I return to SF and have a place to stay because they loved "the danish enthusiasm"  :)

Left with lifted spirits and plenty of signed photos. My pack of fellow travellers has promised my free beer for the rest of the journey in return for the signed cheerleader photos!

I promise to upload pics as soon as I get home  ;)

Just came home from London. Sadly missed all Disers at the game thought I did meet Cains who wrote in here some time back though  ;)  After a good night's sleep I expect to write a bit about the weekend and post some pics.

For those who are interested I expect to post some on facebook and the rest of my travel group and I have agreed that we shall make our picks available on FB so we can "borrow" from each other. So the number of pics will probably increase over a couple of days. My FB name is Kim E. Sorensen if you are interested

Great to come home with a win and I am now 4-3 attending 49er games!

I have a better record than you Grid, I'm 1-0 ;D

I missed out on most of the pre-game stuff because we flew over Sunday morning. Even the Tailgate party was closed when we arrived at the stadium. So sadly no Cheerleader pics from me :'(

Michelle Williams' performance of the Star Spangled Banner was awesome. Made the hair stand on the back of my neck. Great start. It went downhill from there, starting with Jeff Becks version of God Save the Queen. What a travesty.

As all who survived the first half of the game will agree to it was a painfull experience but a steady intake of Carlsberg helped us through it. The 4th. was a blast though. Great to feel excited over the 49ers again for a change.

Back at the hotelbar we watched the 2nd. half of the Pats-Vikings game and continued the intake of beer. I ended up alone in the bar with a diehard 49er fan from Manchester in the wee hous of the morning as the Brits would say. A lot of insightful and intelligent things were said about life in general and the 49ers in particular helped along by an increasingly unneccesary intake of Fosters. You gotta try something new once in awhile  :)

Goodell believes it's realistic for NFL to expand to Europe
http://www.nfl.com/international/story/09000d5d81bb53b2/article/goodell-believes-its-realistic-for-nfl-to-expand-to-europe-

Goodell would not give any hints about a timeline for putting a team in London, "other than as fast as is practical."

"Once we've got the logistics, which I think we have, then it's just a question of the growth of the marketplace," Goodell said. "And that's where we believe playing multiple games will demonstrate that there is a strong foundation for American football. Fans want to see it, there are partners that will support it. ... And when you can get to that point, I think you've given yourself a great deal of confidence that a franchise here would be successful."

You know, I have NO idea. I have ticket stubs all over the house & someday my wife will make a collage out of them. I would expect I've been to about 100 games maybe, going back to 1994.

The good years w/ Siefert & Mooch have probably been matched by the last few with the DUCK, Nolan & MS, so I'd guess I'm about 50-50 at this point.

The 2002 come-from-behind win over the Giants was the single best game EVER.

Pretty cool pic of your gang in front of Wembley Grid. :)

The 2002 come-from-behind win over the Giants was the single best game EVER.

Awesome that you were there. As crazy a game as I've ever seen I think. I really miss Garcia and Mooch now that I think of it. Why did those morons let both of them go?

The police has been investigating the circumstances....?  His girlfriend was driving the car on the highway and she lost control. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car........

His funeral is on Tuesday  :(
